Appointment Booking Tips for Dr. Krempowich

Please use online booking to book your appointments. I rely on same day bookings (Advanced Care Access) to ensure good access to care when you need it! This means ONLY TODAY'S APPOINTMENTS ARE VISIBLE. You will not be able to see tomorrow's appointments.

The day's appointments appear at 6AM daily.

Every regular full clinic day (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) there are plenty of appointments available, and if I see it is full when I check around 8-9AM, I open more spots throughout the day - check back regularly in the morning to see if more spots open up. If you need an appointment and are having problems booking, please just call me! I try to get everyone seen either same day or next clinic day. 

Wednesdays and Fridays are variable - sometimes I have a few same day appointments available, but usually they are reserved for pre-booked appointments and the numerous meetings I have to attend for my leadership roles in our community. These are great days for you to use the quick call/cancellation list as I often have time to speak to patients on the phone or arrange something virtually if needed.

Generally, if there are no online appointments available, you have a few options:

• If your issues is likely to be less than 5 minutes, and you have a flexible schedule and are available by phone, you can access the quick call/cancellation list.
• If your issue is urgent, and you feel it is important for you to obtain an appointment today, either here or the After Hours Clinic, please email drkrempowich@gmail.com or call 705-241-7607 to let me know - I will do my best to get you in if necessary, or help direct you to appropriate care if I am unable to accommodate you.
  • Please note Family Physician offices are not meant for emergency care - if you are having severe chest pain, significant trouble breathing or stroke symptoms, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
• If your issue is not urgent, you can try again another day.
  • If you have tried a few days with no success, please let me know by email so I can work with you to book you in. 

There are a few of you, and I know who you are! Please call me at 705-241-7607 and leave a message requesting an appointment - I will return your call and book you in. If you are able to call in the morning (before 10AM), there is a high likelihood I can book you in same-day, otherwise I will prebook you in the next few days.

Please ensure you select the appropriate appointment type for you concern, and let me know the reason for your visit when prompted. This is beneficial for many reasons. I am able to book you in for the appropriate amount of time (I adjust this on the back end if needed) and I can be well prepared for your visit, including able to collect time saving information from you ahead of time. This allows me to see more patients in a day, and increases the likelihood I am able to see you when you need to see me!

Appointment types:

Standard in-person appointment - Appropriate for most new or follow up concerns. This would include form completion.

Mental Health - If your issue is related to mental health, selecting this appointment will allow me to automatically send you some standardized questionnaires ahead of your appointment to gather some important information ahead of time, and allows me more time to spend directly with you. Please check your email for these forms after you book :)

Same Day Urgent Issue - This is strictly for acute issues such as Urinary Tract Infections, Fevers, Ear infections, Rashes, Shingles, Tick Bites etc that require assessment same day/next day, for which you would otherwise seek care for at an after hours clinic or emergency room.

      NOTE: Acute onset Chest Pain, Stroke Symptoms or Severe Shortness of Breath are   EMERGENT issues and should be seen in the Emergency Room

Diabetes - To book your every 3 month diabetes visit if it was not pre-booked after your last appointment. 

Prenatal - To book your routine pregnancy follow up visit if it was not pre-booked after your last appointment.

Well Baby - To book a check in appointment for your child at one of the standard well baby intervals - 1 month, 2 month, 4 month, 6 month, 9 month, 12 month, 15 month, 18 month and 24 month - including their vaccinations - if it was not pre-booked after your last appointment. 

Prescription Renewal - this appointment type is for if you require a prescription renewal for regular medication only and have no other medical concerns to discuss. Other medical issues will not be discussed. If you are having a problem with your medication and/or you are not sure if it is the right medication for you, please book a standard medical appointment instead.

Vaccination/Injection - shorter appointment for vaccination or injection ONLY. If we have not discussed the vaccination or injection you are considering, please email me first to ensure a) it is the right fit for you, and b) that I have it in stock or whether a prescription needs to be sent ahead of time for you to pick up.

If you are looking for a prescription renewal appointment only, and have no concerns about your prescriptions or no other medical concerns to discuss, please book online, selecting the Prescription Renewal Only option. This is a shorter visit appropriate for simple issues such as straightforward prescription renewal.

The excellent nurse practitioner Stephanie Bertin is seeing patient's on Wednesdays and Fridays. Her appointment spots open up online 1 week in advance for booking.
